Research
Active in Artistic Research since 1992 Les trained at University of the Arts (London), Goldsmiths (London) and Musashino Art University (Tokyo) completing his PhD (2012) exploring artistic research and intercultural collaborative models in the Faculty of Art, Environment and Technology, Leeds Metropolitan University, UK and post-doctorate (2015-2017) from the School of Art and Communications at University of São Paulo, Brazil. From 2018-2020 he examined the museum of the future while Visiting Scholar in the Department of Art History and Archeology at Columbia University.
He serves as a reviewer for the Journal for Artistic Research (JAR) and is an editor of ProjectAnywhere, a peer-reviewed journal at University of Melbourne and Parsons School of Art and Design, New York.
He continues his research across cultures as recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Award at the School of Arts and Aesthetics at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and serves on the Art and Anthropology Committee of the Royal Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and is a Fellow of the Royal Asiatic Society in London.
