Dr. Les Joynes is an Art and Education Scholar, University Educator and Columbia University Research Scholar on Art Education.

Teaching in the arts and culture

Recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Academic & Professional Excellence Award for India, he posted as Senior Scholar at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi and was Visiting Associate Professor of Art at Visva Bharati University. He has lectured at National Taiwan University of Education (NTUE), National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) and National Sun-Yat Sen University, Taiwan.

He has also served as Professor of Record for Modern and Contemporary Art History at Renmin University of China, Beijing and Visiting Professor at the Institute for Cultural Industries at the School of Arts at Peking University (SAPKU). Also an art critic and visual artist, his work has appeared in Art in America, Springer, Art Monthly, Sculpture Magazine, Commons and Sense, CCTV, NHK Television. About Dr. Les Joynes Dr. Joynes is a Columbia University Research Scholar specializing in the Future of Art Education. His innovative approaches in advanced curriculum design have set new benchmarks for art education globally. He is a recipient of the Fulbright-Nehru Academic and Professional Excellence Award for India, during which he served as a Senior Scholar at the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts in New Delhi and as a Visiting Associate Professor of Art at Visva Bharati University. Originally from Santa Barbara, California - he has shared his time since 1983 between the Americas, Europe and Asia.

Academic and Professional Engagements: Dr. Joynes has thirty years experience in research, teaching and engaging students.
